Jonathan Burky is a recruiting professional with a varied professional background in law and engineering. 

Jonathan began his career working as a civil and environmental engineer at a large consulting firm in San Francisco. He then attended Washington University School of Law and graduated in 2007.  He started his legal career at a non-profit organization in Boston, practicing mainly IP and employment law. He later worked at Reed Smith in San Francisco and focused on financial services litigation. Jonathan also has experience with real estate and insurance litigation. He has a penchant for taking bar exams and has passed four of them including Massachusetts, Idaho, California, and Utah (thankfully, Washington granted reciprocity). 

Jonathan began his legal career in 2008 – at a time when associate positions (especially for new graduates) were scarce. He spent day after day in a coffee shop reviewing and revising his resume and sending it off to countless firms. He learned the value of thinking positively and being open to new and exciting possibilities. Down the road, he was frequently approached by law school alumnae and recent graduates seeking job hunting advice. He helped review and revise resumes and gave tips on interviewing with firms. 

Helping law school alumnae find associate positions led to Jonathan’s transition from litigation to legal recruiting. Jonathan places associates and partners at law firms nationally.

Jonathan lives in Park City, Utah, with his wife and two children. When Jonathan is not working, you can find him skiing or on a tennis court.
